When Jaclyn and Brandon Jones tied the knot in 2009, they dreamed of starting a family. In 2012, that dream became a realty when the couple got pregnant with a little girl. Much to their surprise, Jaclyn went into labor a month early. Jaclyn and Baby Taylor, who weighed five pounds, two ounces, had to stay in the hospital a couple of extra days for monitoring. However, Jaclyn and Brandon left the hospital as a family of three with their happy and healthy baby girl.

“As a first time parent, I had lots of questions and uncertainties,” said Brandon. “The nurses and doctors addressed every need and concern with patience and compassion. We had an awesome experience.”

Four years later, the couple got pregnant for a second time. And again, Jaclyn went into labor before her due date. This time — two months early. Baby Teagan weighed four pounds, ten ounces and had to be admitted to the NICU.

“It’s scary. I was crying and really upset, but all of those NICU nurses were awesome,” said Jaclyn. “I felt a special bond with them and I don’t think I’ve felt that before. They just made me feel really at home and safe and I knew my baby was going to be okay.”

Although Jaclyn and Brandon left the hospital without their baby girl, they said the staff at Memorial gave them peace of mind.

“They just explained things really in-depth to me and I haven’t gotten that anywhere else,” said Jaclyn. “I haven’t gotten that personal experience like at Memorial where they put their hand on your shoulder and tell you that it’s going to be okay.”

Teagan was treated in the NICU at Memorial for 15 days. And, everyday Jaclyn and Brandon came to visit for their baby girl.

“They really made me feel at ease and I could go home at night and be at ease,” said Jaclyn.

Teagan has now been transferred to another hospital to be cared for by a pediatric specialist. However, the couple still raves about the care their family received at Memorial. Brandon describes the nurses as “rock stars.”

“These ladies live and breathe for these babies and it shows. I just can’t stress enough how great they are and I would recommend the Women’s Center at Memorial Hospital to anyone wanting to have the best possible experience, before during and after labor,” he said. “If you a want real, personal, hands on experience where you build relationships with great people and do not worry about your children’s safety, I would recommend anyone to Memorial!”
